Web Designer :
We need someone to continue updating the Website next year. This person could also help out with current website maintenance. Casey will provide training. Also, this could be an opportunity for advanced hands-on experience. Or it could be a way to help out by donating a few minutes every month.
ALASC executive position descriptions:
ALASC elects individuals for the following positions every academic year. Our goal is to have one second-year student and one first-year
student in every role, so that each each position will have an
experienced veteran as well as a fresh candidate. Exceptions can and
will be made. All duties and responsibilities listed here are just a
very loose idea; all officers and group members will be asked to
perform assorted tasks to complete projects. The ALASC works on a non-
hierarchical base, with all votes counting as equal except in highly
unusual situations. |
Chair/Co-Chair:
Acts as liaison between academic staff, other student groups, the
community (local, statewide, and national), and SLIS students.
Responsible for conceptualizing, planning, recruiting assistance for,
and executing events. Expected to resolve any issues that emerge from
within the group or within the SLIS community involving the group.
May be accountable for last-minute planning, mass emailing, and
assuming any duties of the treasurer, secretary, or other group
office. Expected to attend all ALASC meetings and events. |
Treasurer:
Responsible for most aspects of finances. Will be in charge of the
ALASC checking account, including making transactions with incoming
and outgoing funds. Expected to know monetary holdings at meetings
and other ALASC events to ensure the group maximizes experiences
without 0verspending. Will assist in decision-making with t-shirt
contest and other revenue-making activities. Other duties as
discussed with Co-Chair and secretary. Expected to attend all ALASC
meetings and events. |
Secretary:
Expected to record minutes at meetings and post these as appropriate
(may include web-posting or emailing). Responsible for a large
percent of ALASC correspondence with entities inside and outside the
UW system. Work will be done with department staff in filling out
assorted group forms and waivers for events. Duties may also include
the facilitation of contest and events, counting of votes, preparing
publicity, and other tasks as discussed with Co-Chair and treasurer.
Expected to attend all ALASC meetings and events. |
