Welcome to the Special Libraries Assocation,
SLIS Student Chapter (SLA-SC)
The Special Libraries Association is an international organization representing librarians in many fields - Business and Finance, Communications, Engineering, Environmental Resource Management, Information Technology, Legal, News, and Solo Librarians to name a few. The mission of the organization is to advance the leadership role of the information specialist by its services, such as an Information Resources Center, Employment and Career Services, Scholarships and Awards and conferences to meet with people in the field.
Through our activities, the Special Libraries Association Student Chapter tries to help students make the transition to graduate life easier while exploring career opportunities in the world of special librarianship. Our goals are to:
- explore career opportunities in special libraries
- build a relationship with librarians in the community
- examine the issues facing our profession
The chapter members communicate through a Google Groups discussion list. To join the group, please sent an email to Clay (cycollins at wisc dot edu).
