About this Collection

This is a collection of digital images, mostly taken from yearlogs assembled by students at the School of Library and Information Studies (formerly the Wisconsin Library School) to document the highlights of their activities. The earliest yearlog dates from the first class to graduate in 1907. The images in this collection have been selected, scanned, organized, and made available to public as part of the class project (LIS 879: Digital Libraries). The contributing students are listed below:

List of Contributors
DL Class in 2004 (See the class picture)
DL Class in 2005 (See the class picture)
DL Class in 2006 (See the class picture)

This is an ongoing project. Students in the future Digital Libraries class will add more items to the collection. If you have any suggestions on the collection and metadata, please let us know.

This Website has been developed and supported by several people. Thanks!

  • Web pages: A prototype of the Web pages bridging the digital collection and the SLIS Web site was developed by three students in the Information Architecture class in 2005: John Loud, Salim Mohammed and Doug Mullin.
  • Revision of Web pages: Joanna Sin and Phoebe Chiu (doctoral students at SLIS) modified the prototype in 2006.
  • Revision of the collection: Ana Maria Acosta contributed to the quality control of the collection (including images and metadata) in 2006.
  • Server & technical support: Paul Hedges and Michael Edmonds of the Wisconsin Historical Society, generously agreed to host our collection on their server and also offered technical supports.
