Overview

Subject Specialists for Academic and Research Libraries: Research, Recruitment, and Education is a joint research project, conducted by the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Library Information Studies (SLIS) and the University of Maryland College of Information Studies (CLIS) with assistance from cooperating libraries on these campuses and at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. It is a three-year project funded by Institute of Museum and and Library Services (IMLS).

The project is a combination of research, recruitment, and capacity building, and it will provide baseline data on a critical personnel supply and demand situation and develop and test a means for meeting projected needs.
